Volunteers are at the heart of Habitat for Humanity’s mission; here in New Zealand, and around the world.
No previous experience neccessary – just a willingness to get involved, connect with your local community and lend a helping hand.
Here are just some of the ways many ways you can get involved with Habitat!
Habitat have a more than 20 retail ReStores around New Zealand selling pre-loved and quality second hand goods. We have a variety of volunteer roles available including retail assistant, backend goods coordinator, truck driver, electrical tester, antiques expert and more.
We also welcome groups from workplaces, community organisations and schools for volunteering days.

Curtain Bank volunteers
With the help of incredible volunteers we support families on low-incomes and struggling to keep the cold out by giving pre-loved curtains that are best fit for their home. Building & repair volunteers
Our building and repair projects often need a helping hand from keen volunteers, work varies but might include painting, sanding, minor repair and gardening. No skills or previous experience needed – the best thing you can bring with you is a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved!

Global Village is our international volunteer programme bringing teams of people together to build and improve homes all around the world. A Global Village trip offers the opportunity to travel to another country to work hand-in-hand with people around the world to help build simple, decent homes.
