Panmure ReStore is getting a new look

Feb 22, 2022

The Panmure ReStore is on the move this February to a temporary pop-up shop site in the building behind its present location, in order to get a much needed new roof and fresh new look.

Annie Hurley, the ReStore Operations manager said, “The landlord is replacing the roof due to its age, which currently has numerous leaks. Every time it rains we have buckets and tubs on the shop floor, it’s gotten so bad we leave them in place every day when we close just in case it rains overnight. When the new roof is installed we won’t have to remember to do this. The landlord is also removing the bulkhead at the shop front and painting the building exterior. This will give the building a fresh, clean, and modern look that will carry us forward for years to come.”

ReStores sell donations of new and pre-loved furniture, appliances, home décor and building supplies from the public and corporate sponsors. Habitat Northern is using this opportunity to refresh the interior with repainting as well as updating the branding that reflects our local programmes

Teams of staff and volunteers helped over two days last week, to pack up and help move stock across to the temporary site. Due to the efforts of the 36 people who helped out the ReStore move was completed three days earlier than scheduled, allowing us to start trading again.

Our ReStore charity shops are a vital source of funds, with all proceeds supporting Kiwi families into decent, healthy and affordable housing.
