Icon New Zealand and Habitat Northern came together this September making essential repairs to Richard’s whare.
Richard has been living in his Māngere home villa now for 23 years along with his two beloved dogs and other family members.
Over time, he had noticed leaks from his roof, which needed replacing along with extensive repairs to the weatherboards and guttering. The team from Icon New Zealand, helped prep and paint the exterior of the home ensuring it is now fully weather tight; this has also given him the incentive to keep going and complete other internal and external maintenance jobs. The Icon crew also learned some new skills on the day with some fantastic window puttying on display.
Being spring in Auckland we were of course interrupted by rain mid-afternoon which called a halt to the painting for the day, however the Habitat team were able to finish it off the next day along with the remaining few minor repairs.
Painting a whole house in a day’s no easy feat, looks amazing and most importantly Richard now has a warm, dry and healthy home for years to come.
