At Habitat, our work is shelter, and that remains a constant.
During the nationwide reaction to Covid-19, Habitat’s work is ongoing – we are still providing shelter for those who are beneficiaries of our work in rentals, working towards home ownership, in facilities for older people and through supporting critical home repair.
But the need to stay home – to shelter in place – has exacerbated the struggle that many people face. These will be people we haven’t met yet, but who are the families with whom we intend to partner. We are doing all we can to strengthen our position so we can respond as soon as we can, because they are going to need our ‘hand-up’ now more than ever.
We have a lot to do, and we are ever-ready.
