Even before the disasters struck, over 14 million people were living in substandard housing, with one in four Nepalese living below the national poverty line.
We continue to bring the local community, Government agencies, and NGO’s together to build a brighter, stronger future for Nepal. We are committed to providing ongoing, long-term assistance, working not only to empower families to rebuild their homes with low-cost materials, but also providing disaster preparedness training and assistance in accessing Government programmes for low income families.
Those affected most by the disasters are those from marginalized ethnic groups and lower castes, families with disabilities or severe health problems, and single-parent households. These groups often fall through the cracks of government support systems.
Only with your support can we work alongside more Nepali families to build the stability and security that decent shelter provides. Please give generously today.
