Assisted Home Ownership
Habitat’s Assisted Home Ownership Programme gives people a hand up to work their way towards home ownership. Each year Habitat CNI offers a few opportunities to join this programme in our region. Below you’ll find all you need to know about the programme, who is eligible and how you can apply.

Habitat Central North Island offers rental properties and facilities, recognising that affordable accommodation should be accessible to all people. Our social rental options include pensioner housing. It’s best to contact us directly for any questions you may have.
Rental options for older people
Hamilton Pensioner Flats
Habitat CNI manages 12 pensioner units based in Dinsdale, Hamilton. The units offer a decent and affordable place to live to people over 60 years of age. They are self contained with shared laundry facilities.

Freeman Court is an independent living facility for older people in Te Awamutu and since 2015 part of Habitat for Humanity Central North Island. Built by the community in the seventies, Freeman Court offers a decent and affordable place to live for 44 residents. The facility is staffed 24 hours a day, offering peace of mind and security.
From time to time, some of our rooms are available for short term respite. In addition Freeman Court also has a meal delivery service available for those who live in the Te Awamutu region. Contact Freeman Court to find out more.
