A brand new Hands on for Habitat house

Mar 10, 2020

The brand new Hands on for Habitat house, situated in the beautiful River Terrace in Ngaruawahia, is all set for auction. Thank you Castle Home Staging for staging the house.
Every cent raised at the home auction, above baseline build and production costs, will go directly to help support outcomes for beneficiaries of Habitat’s Home Repair Programme.

Habitat makes critical repairs that homeowners otherwise couldn’t access because of cost, location, or knowledge. We’re out there working in partnership with families to fix roofs, replace unusable bathrooms or kitchens, install heating, sort out power, plumbing, hot water, drainage, access – all helping to make sure each home is a decent place to live.

Homeowners pay back Habitat at no interest over up to five years. In the meantime, Habitat home repair needs funds to keep on doing more. Hands on for Habitat is a way for trades and suppliers to use their skills in a real way to truly make a difference. Last year, Habitat worked with 116 families to complete critical home repairs in the Central North Island. In 2019, our Home repair programme received a $1 million interest free credit line from the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) to carry out more urgent repairs and alterations low-income homeowners thorughout the North Island.
